James Barry

Hi 👋. James Here.

Thanks for visiting.

Why I started this blog

I’m 26 and spend a lot of time thinking about how to make the most out of life. So much time, that I decided to begin writing about. I know I’m not the only person dealing with this issue (in fact I’m sure I’m one of millions), so I might as well spend my time productively and share my musings with others.

What you’ll read about

This blog covers one general topic, decision making. Articles usually fall into three topics:

1. Decisions I have made (The good, the bad, and the ugly. Especially the ugly).

2. Interesting decisions other have made (risk takers, entrepreneurs, visionaries)

3. The actual science behind making good decisions. (Your time, career, investments)

Other Topics I’m Interested In

I love a good conversation, so don’t hesitate to reach out if something interests you!

Book Recommendations

My three favorite categories are business, self-help, and sci-fi / fantasy. If you’ve got any recommendations please send them over my way!

Ocean Sustainability

Growing up as a sailor, I’ve seen the impact that daily actions have on our seas and environment. I spend my free time volunteering to change that for the better.

Craft Beer / Brewing

I tried to start an alcohol company after all. The craft beer industry and the art of brewing still remains both remains a hobby and a passion of mine.

Entrepreneurship

Stories of building businesses always fascinate me, primarily because of the amount of risk and uncertainty involved. Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone, but it makes for a great story.

Video Games

Hands down my #1 guilty pleasure. Open world RPGs are my favorite and the story telling capabilities that modern technology has provided us are unparalleled.
